Privacy Policy
April 16, 2022
I value your privacy, dear reader!
So, you can rest assured that the only information I store on my website, maggiefitzroy.com, is information that you have freely given me. To learn more about what information I collect, and how it is used, read on…
First, when someone posts a comment on this site, their name, email address, and IP address are automatically collected. If you ever decide you’d like a comment that you made removed, just send me a note through the form on my contact page and I’ll gladly honor your request.
Second, I use CleanTalk to protect my site from spam. CleanTalk compares information with known spammers. It only stores your information for a few days in order to do that. In addition, my site is protected by Wordfence, which keeps an eye on things, and collects data on bad guys who might try to attack it. The data does move into and out of the European Union.
Third, my Newsletter is connected to my website. When someone signs up, their name, IP address (the address of their computer), and email address are collected. My newsletter provides readers with my latest news, and in order to help me know what readers like to see, collects information about how many newsletters are opened. If you ever decide you want to stop receiving my newsletter, just click the unsubscribe button at the bottom.
Fourth, my website includes a Contact Form, which requests your name, email address, the subject, and message you wish to send me. The system also collects your IP address in order to check for spam. I receive the message via email. The information is not stored on my website and the data is sent through normal email channels only.
Fifth, my site is built with WordPress, which uses cookies to track whether someone is logged in or not. All WordPress sites use cookies, which personalize the site. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. For example, if you personalize a web page, or navigate within a site, a cookie helps the site to recall your specific information on subsequent visits, which eases site navigation. Many browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. My site also offers you a handy tool to make it easy for you to reject cookies when you use the site. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of this site.
Sixth, international users be advised that this site is owned and hosted in the United States. By providing your information to it, you are consenting to the transfer of your information to the United States for processing and maintenance in accordance with this privacy notice. You are also consenting to the application of United States law in all matters concerning the site.
Seventh, I may occasionally update this Privacy Policy statement, so you may want to check back periodically to see if anything has changed. When I do, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
Last, remember this is a public website. That means anyone can read posted comments, so use caution when posting sensitive information. And remember, if you ever want to remove a comment, just send me a message on the Contact Form.
Thank you, and thanks for visiting maggiefitzroy.com!
